Some Frequently asked Questions

What does organic mean?

To quote the Soil Association; “Organic systems recognise that our health is directly connected to the food we eat and , ultimately, the health of the soil. Organic farmers aim to produce good food from a balanced living soil. Strict regulations, known as st and ards, define what they can and can't do. They place strong emphasis on protecting the environment.”

You can read a more detailed article on our News and Views page.

Why is Organic better?

No chemicals for a start. But there is more to it. Take a look at the article, also on the News and Views page giving 10 good reasons to go organic, according to the Soil Association.

How do I place an order?

You can order by phone, e-mail or on-line. Just go to our Home Page and click on the little van  to check if we cover your area. You will then see easy instructions on how to order. Otherwise just give us a call on 07847 450358.

What is the minimum order?

None. Order as much or as little as you want.

Do I have to sign up for a fixed number of weeks?

No. You can place an order or cancel an order any time. For cancellations we do ask for 48 hours notice.

How do I know what will be in my box?

We can never be sure until the day of delivery, because the produce is often picked less than 24 hours before delivery. Have a look at the This Week’s Boxes page where we explain a bit more. We always show the contents of the boxes that we have just delivered on this page. This gives you a good idea of what is seasonal and some of the produce that is likely to get into this week’s delivery also.

Do I pay extra for delivery?

No. You just pay for the produce. Everything else, including delivery, is free.

What if I want to pay by credit card?

You can pay by all major credit and debit cards. We won’t charge you any extra.

How else can I pay?

In addition to paying by credit or debit card on-line, you can pay when you order over the telephone. You can also pay by cheque, preferably 4 weeks in advance to help our administration. Just let us know what is easiest for you when you order.

What days do you deliver?

You can see the delivery day for your area when you enter your postcode on the delivery area page . Currently most deliveries are on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week.

What times do you deliver?

We deliver all through the day. We cannot guarantee what time, as it depends on the orders we have in your area that day. We aim to deliver most orders between 6.30 am and 4.30pm.

How do you ensure the quality of the produce?

We check every box to make sure the contents are of excellent quality. If we miss something and you are not happy with any of the box contents, please tell us and we will give you a refund or a replacement free of charge.

How are the deliveries packed?

We try to minimise packaging wherever we can. In order to recycle as much as possible we use the boxes that growers have delivered their produce in. If you can give us back your empty boxes each week we will re-use them as many times as we can.
